Where To Parasail In South Carolina

Parasailing Enjoyed All Over SC - Over Any Large Open Body OF Water - Charleston Cooper River - Lake Moultrie, SC and Lake Murray

Parasailing fun off of Murrells's Inlet, SC - not far from Myrtle Beach.

One of the newest activities sweeping across South Carolina's rivers, lakes and ocean beaches is parasailing. A para-sailor straps on a harness attached to a large deployed parachute. The front of the harness is then attached to a tow rope anywhere from 3- to as much as 500 feet long in some cases.

A powerful motorboat hooks on the tow rope and within just a few seconds the parasailor is flying aloft. The tow rope pulls the passenger and the parachute forward, inflating the parachute which then lifts like a wind-borne kite.

Although usually done on large open bodies of water such as South Carolina's Lake Moultrie, Marion or Thurmond or even offshore along one of South Carolina's beautiful Atlantic beaches, parasailing can also be done on wide open stretches of rivers.

Rivers, though, naturally must be free of bridges, powerline crossings and overhanging trees. Charleston upper Cooper River, the Broad River near Columbia or the Savannah River between South Carolina and Georgia are good locations.

Folly Beach near Charleston, South Carolina offers parasailing both on the open ocean and in the Intracoastal Waterways. Also, several parasailing opportunities are available along the Grand Strand and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Parasailing is offered in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Surfside. A little farther south is parasailing in Garden City, South Carolina.

Heading south from Charleston are parasail operations at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

These operations are established Commercial Recreational Businesses. They offer both solo, double and some have triple passenger capacity for friends and family can parasail together.

Although growing in popularity, not everyone knows that it is sport activity which can be done in tandem or even in three's. So, your Family can enjoy SC Para-sailing together.

Anyone wanting to experience the thrill and the view from a parasail can find many opportunities around South Carolina's beautiful waterfront areas.
